On January 17 of each year, classrooms across the country celebrate Kid Inventors Day. This day is also the birthday of Benjamin Franklin who invented the first swim flippers almost 300 years ago at age 12! Since this year, January 17 falls on a Sunday, and Monday we commemorate Martin Luther King’s birthday, we thought you might like to celebrate Kid Inventors Day with a few activities compiled by our own Jennifer Mead, Director of Education for the California Invention Convention when you return starting on Tuesday, January 19! Jennifer has compiled a few activities that you can do with your students, and which are now part of our virtual curriculum link. You can find them at:

Have fun, and Happy Birthday, Benjamin Franklin!
