Here is the schedule as we know it so far for the Northern / Central California Invention Convention on April 13th, 2024 at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento:
7:00 AM: Volunteers check-in
8:00 AM – 9:45 AM: Students check-in. After the students set up their display boards and inventions, they – and their families / chaperones – are free to explore the museum. (No students under 15 are allowed to walk around the museum without adult supervision). At 9AM, docents will be at various museum exhibits to engage the students and answer questions. All inventors must be back at the Convention Floor standing by their inventions / display boards by 9:45 AM
8:30 AM: Judges check-in
9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Judge Training
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Judges meet with Inventors on Convention Floor
11:00 AM – 2:30 PM: Convention Floor open to General Public
11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon: Judges finish evaluations and scoring. Students must stay by their inventions in case judges have further questions
12:00 Noon – 2:15 PM: Students are free to leave with families, chaperones. The museum is open for exploration.
2:15 PM: Students return to remove inventions and all materials.
The Virtual Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 19th at 6:00 PM. Details will be posted here when available
