The 2020 California Invention Convention was an Virtual Success!!
This year, in spite of a pandemic, stay at home social distancing, schooling by internet, 150 students from around the state of California were able to creatively solve problems that ranged from those in the backyard (scaring away turkeys in the yard) to those that are global (how can we clean up the world’s oceans). Each invention was described by the inventor(s)in a 4-6 minute video loaded onto You Tube which was then accessed and scored by our judges. They were inspired by the creativity and empathy of these inventors.
From this group of creative inventors, our 50 judges were hard-pressed to choose the Merit Award winners, the Industry Focus Award winners, as well as choose the the 40 inventions and their inventors that will be invited to virtually attend the 2020 National Invention Convention sponsored by The Henry Ford. Note: we use the information on these pages directly as it was entered into the registration system when the teacher registered the school and when the student registered as an inventor. If there is something that needs correcting, please don’t hesitate to contact us with the correction.
Additionally, in order to provide confidentiality and protect the ideas of the inventors, we are not including links to the invention videos. Only the judges have been allowed to view the videos.
